i work at a major retail store and the other day i returned and item which i washed and wore...after i washed it, it did not fit the way it should so i didnt think it would be a big deal if i returned it. i went to the cash register and asked a fellow employee if i could return it and she said yes. so then i did..right after i returned it the general manager came to the register and asked if the item was mine...the cashier froze and said no...so i didnt know what to do so i went a long with it and said no...thats totally not me to lie like that...i just didnt know what to do... then the manager took a read on the register and found out that it was mine...while she was doing this the person that checked me out purchased the same item from the floor and brought it to me and told me to put it in my locker....well now we are both suspended and risk loosing our jobs...but the thing that gets me is about a month ago..the same manager who is suspending us purchaced a item that was washed and warn (which is against company polocy) then was informed that the item was an employees that she just took off because she was hot..then the manager had to return the item...which is against company policy...we are not allowed to return washed or worn items unless it is defective...well i thought my shirt shrunk more than it should so i thought i was ok in returning it...i just dont know why i lied about it...if i would have known that it would have been such a big deal i wouldnt have done it...please help me!!
